Two very fascinating stories have circulated about this beautiful song. According to one story, when the famous music director Naushad heard the Anpadh songs, he was so impressed that he told Madan Mohan that he would be willing to exchange all of the songs he composed in his life for just two ghazals from Anpadh: Aap Ki Nazron Ne Samjha and Hai Isi Me Pyar Ki Aabroo. According to another story mentioned at the Madan Mohan website, just before Madan Mohan, Lata Mangeshkar, and the orchestra were ready to start recording a song he had already composed for the film Anpadh, the song-writer Raja Mehdi Ali Khan walked in with new lyrics he wrote for that particular situation. The producer liked the new lyrics. Madan Mohan then went in another room with the lyricist (some say he took an elevator down) and came up with a completely new tune in only a few minutes (or while in the elevator). With everyone waiting to do the recording, he discarded the first song and the new song was composed, arranged, rehearsed and recorded right away…thus in a very short time, the timeless classic Aap Ki Nazron Ne Samjha was created! I tried to obtain a combination of the original dvd-quality visuals and normal sounding instrumental tracks that are not excessively digitally "enhanced" or boosted for one of the most loved songs composed by Madan Mohan and sung by Lata Mangeshkar.
